![]() ![]() I don't have to press Devices in order to control volume, etc. It's strange because I have a 665 that I use in my bedroom upstairs and no matter what device I pick, all of the remote's buttons work fine. I don't have to do that when using Watch Roku or Watch Movie (Panasonic blu-ray player). Also, when watching a laser disc, I can't control the volume of the Insignia tv unless I press Devices, select Insignia tv and that works. Just wondering why it doesn't have an Eject command somewhere when I first press Watch Laser Disc. I press play, it works, hit skip it works etc. ![]() All the other buttons work fine, even when I go back to the Watch laser disc screen with those two commands. In order to open/close the player I have to press Devices at the bottom of screen, select the Pioneer then press the lower right arrow three times to get to Eject command. So when I press Watch Laser Disc everything turns on fine but on the remote screen I only have two choices:Aspect and Audio. Just set up a new 665 and one of the devices it now controls is a Pioneer CLD99 laser disc player. So I couldn't find a Harmony 665 thread so decided to ask my question here. I use JP1 RF remotes (Xsight and Nevo), but good ones are quite hard to find these days, so I can't really recommend them. Use this page to see if all your devices are in the database:Īs you can see from my other posts, I'm not a Harmony user (programming is too limited and hardware is too expensive for me), so all of the above is completely unbiased. Luckily you can simply return it if it doesn't work. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure is to try it in your home. Since you're only going through one wall, you shouldn't have any problems at all. Older Harmony RF models seemed to have better range than current ones. RF has limits due to the laws of physics, so once you get past maybe 30-40 feet or have a lot of solid materials to pass through, you'll have issues. I suspect the cause in those cases is user error or ignorance (i.e., not knowing that RF is unlearnable by any remote, not knowing IR learning is an option, not knowing pronto hex is an option).ĭropouts are a reasonable complaint. Since Harmony has the largest device database in the world, coupled with the fact you can learn any missing commands as well as send support the pronto hex for any missing commands, I find the claim about not being able to control well known brands very hard to believe. You're asking here in the 650 thread, I assume, because you have a 650? In that case, I can tell you that all Harmony models ever made share the same device database aside from additional RF, zigby, bluetooth and wifi devices that hub remotes can control. ![]()
